Help & getting started

Everything you need to get set up

You're testing an early version of ReporterLedger. This page covers the basics — if something's confusing or broken, that's exactly the kind of feedback that's useful right now, so please reach out rather than working around it silently.

Getting started

  1. Create an account with your email and a password — no invite code needed.
  2. Go to Settings first and fill in your business name, address, and default payment terms — this appears on every invoice you generate.
  3. Click New job and enter a real job's details — client, pages, appearance fee, travel, exhibits, and any rush surcharge. The total calculates as you type.
  4. Once a job is entered, open it and click View invoice to see the generated invoice. From there, Print / Save as PDF gives you a proper PDF using your browser's print dialog.
  5. Mark a job invoiced once you've sent it, and paid once the client pays — your dashboard's outstanding AR and overdue counts update automatically.

Frequently asked

Is my data private from other beta testers?

Yes — every account only ever sees its own jobs and invoices. Nobody else testing this can see your clients, rates, or job details.

Does this connect to my rates or clients automatically?

No — nothing is pulled in automatically, and nothing is shared with any agency, marketplace, or platform. You enter your own job details, on your own terms, same as you would in a spreadsheet.

Can I edit a job after I've marked it invoiced?

Yes, for now — this is an early version, so there are no locks on edited fields yet. Worth telling me if that's a problem for how you actually work.

Is there a mobile app?

Not yet — the web version works on a phone browser, but it's designed primarily for a desk/laptop workflow right now.

What happens to my data after the beta?

Nothing changes without telling you first — if the product moves to a paid version, existing beta data carries over, and you'll hear about it directly, not find out by surprise.

Something confusing, broken, or missing?

That's exactly what this beta is for. Email support@reporterledger.com or reply to whichever message got you here — happy to jump on a quick call if that's easier than typing it out.
